World Food Processing Identity Preservation Procedures
World Food Processing contracts with producers in the spring and monitors the production soybeans after planting
World Food Processing has grower groups setup throughout its growing area. These groups have one representative that monitors the production and reports to World Food Processing's main office on all progress.
World Food Processing has field representatives that go to the groups and hold education meetings for the growers. These meetings help educate the growers and explain World Food Processing's mandatory procedures, such as separate bin storage for each variety and procedures on how to clean combine bins, and augers. The field representatives are also available to go out and answer questions for the growers during the progress of the soybeans.
Upon harvest, growers send in samples that are given a lot number that follows the seed through our entire system and then to the customer. The samples are sent to FTE Genetics lab for testing. In the lab all samples are evaluated on seed size, appearance, seed coat, moisture, protein, and oil. Lots that do not meet specifications are rejected at this time.
Accepted lots are sent to Gene Scan USA Inc., formerly known as Central-Hanse Analytical Laboratory, a third party in Bell Chasse, Louisiana for ELISA tests that will detect GMO residue. After receiving confirmation that the test is negative, acceptance reports are sent to producers and soybeans are scheduled for delivery at the plant.
The World Food Processing plant has a firm policy prohibiting GMO soybeans in the plant. When a truck arrives, World Food Processing performs a Trait GR Bulk Soybean Lateral Flow test; referred to as the Litmus Test, to assure GMO contamination has not occurred. Trucks are not off-loaded until the test has been completed and reads negative.
Each lot is kept separate throughout our system from receiving bins, cleaning, and to packaging bins. If a problem were to arise we would be able to track it toe the growers bin and the delivery truck.
After cleaning, the soybeans are packaged in bags, totes, or bulk.
The lot numbers are tracked with the seed all the way to the container or tote and on to the customer. Our system ensures a quality product that has maintained its genetic identification including, Soy Protein Technologies (USA) LLC.
World Food Processing is certified Organic by two different certifying agencies, Farm Verified Organic (FVO) and Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA).
Soybeans are transported to Soy Protein Technologies (USA), LLC and converted into Fine Soy Powder while maintaining the Lot Identification. |
